On the morning of December 6, the inauguration ceremony of Xixian Tongfang Silk Road Future Innovative Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “Silk Road Institute”) and Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center was solemnly held in Xixian New Area.

The participants included Ren Kangjun, Director of The Administrative Committee of Xixian New Area, Shaanxi Province, Yuan Zhongde, Deputy Director-general of Industry and Information Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, Han Jingyang, Deputy Director of School Affairs Committee of Tsinghua University and Vice Chairman of Tsinghua Alumni Association, Zhou Liye, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of Tongfang Co., Ltd., Zhao Xiao, Deputy Director of The Administrative Committee of Xixian New Area, Shaanxi Province, Zhou Dong, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of Shaanxi Xixian New Area Development Group Co., Ltd., Cheng Fang, President of THTI Holding Co., Ltd., etc.

Zhao Xiao, Deputy Director of The Administrative Committee of Xixian New Area, delivered a speech at first. He expressed his sincere congratulations on the opening of Silk Road Institute and Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center; he also indicated that the construction of Silk Road Institute and Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center is another important exploration and major measure for motivating innovative vigor and promoting the commercialization of research findings in Xixian New Area, and that it will add new energy for the area to seize the opportunity for emerging industry development, and create the open, integrated and shared platform for scientific and technological innovation and industrialization of research results as well as ecosphere of the commercial aerospace industry; meanwhile, it is hoped that two platforms may play important roles in the collaborative innovation by governments, enterprises, schools and research institutes, contribute Xixian’s wisdom to creating a new engine of economic development in Shaanxi Province and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the industry structure in Greater Xi’an.

Cheng Fang, President of THTI gave a speech on behalf of the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center. He showed gratitude to the strong support and guidance from the government of Xixian New Area and introduced the development and project significance of the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center.

Located at Building 4-B1, 1st phase of Starting Zone of Energy, Finance and Trade Area, Xixian New Area, the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center, with an operating area of over 5,000m2, is the 51st incubator of THTI in the 32nd city all over the country. This project represents THTI’s important practice and exploration of vertical and innovative incubation business in the emerging industry of commercial aerospace.

The Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center will fully integrate the industrial resources such as science, technology and talents in the field of commercial aerospace in Greater Xi’an, give full play to regional aerospace talents to promote the commercialization of research findings, provide a brand new and reliable professional innovative platform for high-end aerospace talents in Shaanxi Province and assist in the layout and development of the aerospace industry chain in Xixian New Area.

Up to now, companies such as Beijing Deep Blue Aerospace Technology Co, Ltd., Land Space Technology Corporation Ltd., Xiamen Sucheon Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Tianlian Measurement and Control Technology Co., Ltd. have settled in the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center. Moreover, over 60 commercial aerospace enterprises will be incubated and invited to settle in the center in the next five years.

Then Shaanxi Financial Office granted province-level incubator qualification to THTI Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center. Xixian Tongfang Silk Road Institute and THTI Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center held a signing ceremony for the first batch of settled enterprises.

At last, Ren Kangjun, Director of the Administrative Committee of Xixian New Area, and other leaders, accompanied by Zhang Wei, General Manager of the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center, visited the project to learn about its construction and operation and talked with some settled enterprise representatives. The leaders expressed strong agreement and high recognition to the current construction achievement and operation status of the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Center, and encouraged the center to create unicorn companies in the field of commercial aerospace in Xixian New Area soon.
